The Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia (ITALY) was founded, as a winemakers’ cooperative, in 1960, evolving years by years from a simple must producer to an award-winning wine cellar. The grapes conferred by the members, belong mainly to the five indigenous varieties of the limestone territory surrounding “Castel del Monte”, between the provinces of Bari and Barletta-Andria-Trani. Today, the Ruvo di Puglia’s Wine Cellar is one of the most important wineries in southern Italy with over 400 members, over 8,000 tons of grapes per harvest, a production of 4.000.000 bottles per year and the absolute leadership in the production and selling of “Nero di Troia” variety in the 0,75L bottle format. “Crifo” brand, as acronym for the original denomination “Cantina della Riforma Fondiaria” and the Griffin, a mythological animal that the ancient builders have carved on the external façade of the of Ruvo di Puglia’s Cathedral, sign the best-bottled wines.
